The only thing is that if you like to put it on your lap like a normal laptop then that won't work with the surface pro. It is really a tablet with a keyboard cover with laptop internals.
Build quality of the Surface line is really good. If I was buying for myself I'd get a Surface Book with the discrete Nvidia graphics. |

It is not. Dealing with a laptop crash (or a dying laptop), buying a new laptop, setting it up is a PITA. I understand you're cheap and don't value your time/convenience at all, but if you did you would see why a better $1500 laptop that lasts 3x as long (or more) is cr. And I say this as someone who isn't all in on Apple. I have one MBP, one custom gaming laptop, a surface pro and wife has two thinkpads (one Yoga, one T series). |
