Is this the streaming game thing? My Nvidia Shield TV has supported it for years. I tried it out for a bit last year and the graphics were shit. They claim the games are all running on 1080s but they all looked better when I ran them locally on my GTX 970. Latency was not an issue. Shield TV can pump out 4k video without a hitch so I know that's not the problem, especially since I was only running it at 1080p.

The articles I'm reading say the PC service is different in terms of the games it supports, since Shield TV doesn't have a keyboard and mouse. Pricing is also different. Otherwise it's the same thing. From what I'm reading it sounds like users see a constant tradeoff between framerate and graphics quality. For any game that involves a lot of action you're going to see the screen resolution drop when you're moving around and then improve when you're standing still. Sounds like this is mainly aimed at people with old computers or shitty integrated graphics.
