he whiffed his response to a lame "whataboutism" raised by a female panelist ("why should we respect trump voters? isn't your main beef with the left that we're too damn sensitive?")
he should have knocked that one out of the park but didn't

in the overtime segment, he pointed out that liberals are vile for constantly demonizing half of the country's citizens. the unhinged shitlib woman challenged him, saying that contradicts his previous take that liberals are out of control with political correctness.

he should've responded that it's because liberals are hypocrites and don't hold themselves to the same standards they hold others to.
and that political correctness is a thinly veiled instrument of liberals to control the marketplace of ideas and thrust their marxist propaganda on the masses to give the state more authority to further control thought and speech.

I watched Peterson. It wasn't his best performance. Maybe he was nervous?
Jordan said the political climate in the US was becoming extremely divisive on a level he had not witnessed prior in the country. Before this he also discussed how liberals and academic culture stifle free speech. One of the liberal pundits threw a question at him something along the lines of like "You say the left is pre-occupied with being non-confrontational and restricting the ability to speak freely so as not to offend, but if we call Trump supporters backwards or unenlightened, you claim we're damaging the country. How do you explain that?" It kind of threw him for a loop and he gave a half-assed answer, with a valid point but bad delivery.
What he should have said was, the issue not a free speech issue. The partisan divide is not being driven by liberals calling Trump supporters "dumb". What's hurting the country is an organized, protracted and concerted effort to remove Donald Trump from office at any cost. Bill Maher said we've never seen someone like Trump in office before, that he breeds a cult of personality and is directly attacking our "democratic institutions". But our democratic institutions appear to be weaponized against him, along with most of the media. The point is, something has been brewing in this country for decades. I am old enough to remember Ross Perot and the level of support he got running on the simple platform of "Washington is broken, crony capitalism has taken over and they are wasting every penny of the money they hoover up". Americans have become incredibly exasperated, actually beyond exasperated, by the broken revolving door of Washington. Whether its Democrats, Republicans or whatever the fuck, we still have no secure border, nothing is getting done, and then you have leaders who imply that even the notion of having a border is "racist" or "intolerant". Well there's no such thing as a country or nation without borders. The people of America have been suffering horribly while Washington elites ask for more and more money, as Americans have less and less money and get absolutely nothing done for anyone besides their crony supporters. They wanted to throw a brick into Washington to rile things up. Donald Trump is that brick and they elected him to do EXACTLY what he is doing. This concerted effort on every level to have him removed from office is what is poisoning the country right now. Trump doesn't have a "cult of personality", people are more doggedly supporting him as they see the sharks surround him and see this effort to remove him as the power of the forces that have screwed Americans over becoming triumphant once again. Even if Trump isn't a great hope, he's at least SOME hope, to many Americans, that the American people still have a voice. Donald Trump had 17 Republican opponents. He defeated them. He went through the same process as everyone else. He ran against Hillary Clinton, the first female presidential nominee, who had the entire backing of the mainstream media, big money donors and Hollywood, and he beat her too. Fair and square. To suggest that his win is illegitimate is patently ridiculous to the point of being comical. What the Americans who supported him feel from the forces aligned against Trump is a gigantic "fuck you". The forces trying to remove him are saying the voices of everyone who voted for him, do not matter, because they are contemptible trash. And then you blame Trump supporters for sewing the seeds of discord, or Trump himself? Trump is doing exactly what people elected him to do. To rile things up and connect our government back to what it was designed to do: serve the people.
That is what he should have said, but sadly, it was a missed opportunity.
