Then I thought, well Judaism was the religion from which Christianity and Islam (the other big Abrahamic, monotheistic faiths) sprang from.
Now, let's assume that Jesus and Mohammed actually existed. I'm not quite sure they did, but let's postulate they did.
If you were a Christian believer, your greatest wish would probably be to meet Jesus Christ. That would be the ultimate possible thing to happen to you. For Muslims, it would be the same story with Mohammed. This would be the ultimate experience.
Jews were the only group of people around at the time to encounter these two historical figures directly, and they rejected them. Jews experienced what Christians or Muslims would consider to be the most intensely incredible individuals, experienced them, and fully rejected them both.
Jews turned both Jesus and Mohammed away, saying they were false prophets - this isn't genuine.
I think this correlates directly with the Christian and Islamic attacks on Jews subsequently and explains the origins of the hate. It has led to violence and demonization. I do not think Jews will ever be forgiven by these groups for rejecting their most revered figures as basically frauds.
And therefore I think, anti-Semitism is not over, and will never really be over. It's why the hate never goes away - the Jews will never be forgiven. That's what happens when bronze age myths clash and linger into modernity.
