i would say it's mostly because IF you have rich parents they have more resources available to insulate the kid from adversity that would make them resilient to the vagaries of existence. it's more a possibility than a general rule, but if it's as OP has it. that kid could have a tough road to hoe no matter the resources available to them. |

FYI - I'm interviewing people for an in-house position now and we're basically not even considering straight from biglaw people. That said, I did hire one such person a while back. Mind you, the guy had a STEM degree with latin honors which is what we really wanted.
Long story short, I guess I see the poster's point that you might take a $120k shit in-house job or an Amazon.com biglaw style job, but even if you do you'll trade that for something better pretty quickly if you don't suck. |

the benefits of family wealth probably diminish rapidly (maybe become counterproductive) in terms of helping you really, really win the game. but it’s obviously helpful if you want to be a retarded artist in williamsburg and not starve |
