We don't have the best relationship, but he's still my brother. Feel bad for him bc he's getting deep into this MLM that is pure shit. He's running the family business into the ground to finance his MLM activities. Wish I could slap him and get him to realize he's alienating long-term friends and family bc he's constantly pitching it and putting other's down (bc his MLM is the key to success). |

Problem is that he uses the family business to bolster his sales/activity. Takes a handful of employees on a cruise paid for by the company. Worst part is that it's turning our family relationship into a "Us" vs "Them" type of relationship. If we didn't sign up or promote this MLM, we're suddenly the assholes. |

Fam biz -- it was toxic once my dad died. I was a teenager when this happened. I did inherit one of the businesses but he sold the equipment to his company at below market value and then did a loan. So it went from
Comp A (I own 25%), Comp B (he owns 50%).
He bought Comp A assets at a 50% discount, and Comp A gets funds and loans it out to Comp B at a low rate --> royally ass fucked.
Thinking about it now, I'm happy I didn't get it because it forced me to do my own thing. I'd probably get too comfortable with it and end up searching meaning like he is. He's made it clear in our family convos that he wants out of the business, but it's in shambles. We had a very good rep in the industry, and now we're regarded as a company being driven into the ground. |
