very easy and slept a ton. smiled and giggled a lot.
had super blonde hair but now have brown hair.
younger sibling was big too but a real pain in the ass and didn't sleep through the night until nearly one year old.

I also take the longest showers which I attribute to simulating the womb I left too early
I was a scrawny kid, am above average height, am above average weight as an adult (overweight is a typical outcome of preterm birth which may have more to do with typical SES of typical preterm moms than the birth itself) |

Date: May 18th, 2018 1:11 PM Author: Henna Stirring Piazza Clown i was always a decent athlete. not great, but not bad. always made the little league tournament teams. when i got in really good shape in my mid-20s i would run a low-6 minutes mile. i went from never having played tennis and not being able to keep the ball in play to putting top spin on my forehand and smashing a pretty good serve (not that i could do either any more). i could hit a 1 iron 250 yards and a 5 iron over 200 yards in my prime. i have a brother who is a fantastic athlete, so i always wonder if i was compromised a bit from the premature birth.
i used inhalers as a kid. i try to stay away from them now and just fight through it.
my problem is that even when i am in good shape, my aerobic capacity is shit. i never ran more than 2.5 miles at a time even when i was super fit. and when i stop exercising, my lung capacity immediately reverts to that of a 70 year old.
my body tends toward inflammation, including the lungs; don't know if it's all related or not.
interesting you mention the showers and womb simulation. i like being in rooms with closed doors, and i have a tendency to ball up my posture in sleep and otherwise, and i always wonder if that is connected to spending the first couple of weeks of my life in an incubator. |
