Rather, I evaluate my associations on whether or not the person in question adds value to my life. If yes, I keep them around and work towards making the relationship even better. If not, I cut them loose. It's no different than being a GM of a pro team or running a business.
In this case, I've concluded I'm better off cutting all ties with my brother as he's not someone I'd associate with if we weren't related. The fact that he's a relative makes no difference to me: he adds no value to my life. |
