The Star Wars train is running out of steam.

And the theater was significantly less full than when Deadpool 2 debuted.

If you've seen the recent Star Wars movies, Solo won't feel like anything notable.

just saw it. it wasn't anywhere remotely near as good as the OT or Rogue One but better than any of the prequels or the two new ones. It felt like star wars EU/kotor 2 with the crime syndicate plotline but the pacing could've been better, and it was a bit cheesy at times although this is expected with a kids movie. the guy who played han was terrible. donald glover and woody were great. shitlibbery was kept pretty minimal at least compared to TLJ until the end, but there was a redeeming scene after that which i wont spoil that I thought made up for it generally.

I'm beginning to realize that these Star Wars movies are just not well made. The Marvel movies may be formulaic, but at least the formula works.

I don't think there was 1 time in the entire movie anyone in my movie felt any emotion - never heard anyone laugh or gasp or anything. The whole thing just felt like a chore.

The performances were actually pretty good, but I think a big issue is they never really deal with conflict. Woody Harrelson loses his wife early in the movie - and nothing comes of it. Lando abandons them randomly.

Khaleesi and Han actually have a nice romance going, but then she does but doesn't but does betray him - but it's all done in a way that is more confusing than emotional. At the end, I have no idea wtf is going on with her talking to Darth Maul.

And all the action sequences were absolutely brutal. Can't they bring on James Cameron or Mel Gibson or the guy who did Rogue One on as consultants for that shit? At one point they were outside the Millenium Falcon and all the main characters were basically dancing, uncovered, in a firefight that was incredibly poorly staged with no stakes.

Isn't this a fundamental problem with prequels? A lot of the suspense is removed because you know where they have to end up?

I'd be super interested in seeing the original version. It sounds like it was a disaster because even the cast has came out against them.

Plus, the movie literally does not have one laugh it now - so you'd think if the prior comedy was working some of that would have come through.

They've gone too far. You know when HGTV hosts call things matchy-matchy? Disney is doing that with its Star Wars movies.
