Just a well made fun game that you can play for 20 minutes or 3 hours.

The combat and some of the mechanics are a bit kooky so understand that you’re buying for a cool story/setting to explore. |

No cutscenes, no running around an aimless open world doing stupid bullshit tasks, no microtransactions.
You just pick your loadout and are immediately thrown into a level full of giant insects to blast the shit out of. You start out with simple assault rifles and will eventually get Godzilla sized powersuits and guided missiles the size of skyscrapers. The amount of content is massive. The devs are a class act (they GAVE away two large mission pack expansions as an apology for a glitch in the game). The in-mission battle chatter is some of the funniest shit I've ever heard. This is a game where they took a relatively simple premise and just went all-fucking-in on it.
I have every system and a sick gaming PC, tons of "AAA" games, but EDF is the thing I play the most. 175 hours in it. Also for what it's worth, chicks seem to love this game. Every chick I've dated that was inclined towards gaming at all has had a blast with it. |
