It's like that one motherfucker on Twatter who kept shorting VIX with SVXY or whatever over and over in 2017. Started getting his friends and family on board and was a "money manager" about to open his hedge fund after 1 year of shorting VIX. You know what happened.

I lost for a few years just being a clueless sucker, then a sucker with a little knowledge. About 2012, the market would often do what I thought it would do, but I'd have fucked myself too hard to truly have the mental capital to plunge or buy dips with authority.

I completely quit any and all daytrades; 2012 ended without losses but insignificant gains. Refined the things that I was doing well and reduced leverage. 2013 +10% but lower leverage. Late 2013-2014 I traded less b/c I was doing some more landman work but was up for the year. 2015 after the oil bust I was trading full time again and doubled a fairly large account. (see below for what I trade; no risky penny shit or other things where ppl double accounts.) Everything I trade can be scaled literally to hundreds of millions of $$. For the first time I believed: I had called the market so many times perfectly over the past few years but still managed not to capitalize. 2016 was market by 3 of the best long term swing calls of my life. I went long Crude Oil 2/2/2016 for a position. GDX for a multi month swing trade and motherfucking Brazil long into the motherfucking Olympics. I made all 3 of these calls publically on a somewhat well known trading forum where a bunch of old guys gather and post calls. I'd link u but I post with my real name and don't want outted here. 2017 I was up over 50% by July but closed up only 15% -- low beta grind up just doesn't suit my style and I kept getting burned on index shorts toward the end of 2017. Of course, and that brings me to 2018: I am fucking killing it. Got heavily long VXX like 3 days before the shit hit the fan and just made oceans of $$ on that. Lotsa index shorts this year have paid well. Most recently I got long EWZ when it crashed last week and made a lot on that.

Style is primary a 1-3 day swing trader. But will hold for weeks and months on a Big Idea like 2016 Brazil into Olympics. Trade only liquid ETF's/Futures. Primarily SPX & IWM and their futures products. Crude Oil ETF's & Futures + E&P ETF's like XOP. Natural Gas ETF's + Futures. Gold & Gold Miners ETF's. Sometimes a trade VIX products when I think risk/reward is better there that with SPX, but its always on an SPX outlook.
