Gunman wounds 2 at Tumwater Walmart; fatally shot by bystander
TUMWATER, Wash. -- Two people were wounded and a suspected gunman is dead in a chaotic shooting inside and outside a Walmart store in Tumwater Sunday evening.
Dispatchers received several calls reporting gunfire at the Walmart on 5900 Littlerock Road SW around 5 p.m.
A witness told KOMO News they were in line in the store when gunfire erupted. Chaos ensued as people ran from the store, and the gunman followed, with more shots fired outside.
The gunman attempted to carjack someone when he was fatally shot by a bystander, Tumwater police said.
One of the wounded victims was flown by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but their condition is not known. A second shooting victim was being treated for a non-life-threatening wound, police said.
Officers are investigating four scenes connected with the shootings. The motive remains unknown. |
