If you arrest people on the border, I kind of get why you would want to seperate kids and parents. The problem is Trump is doing it out of racist and xenophobic motives.
As a lib, I want to end the wink wink system that lets people cross illegally and stay here and replace it with a real system that increases legal immigration and guest worker programs. I want more immigrants in the country. I also understand that our border is a joke, mainly because libs and corporate Republicans have used a lax border as an immigration system |

A “woke Democrat” who separated families at the border would presumably be doing or due to some law and order rationale, but would likely have a better overall immigration policy.
I’m personally not shedding too many tears about this particular child thing as long as the kids are being properly cared for, have access to lawyers and doctors, etc. |
