I have to work myself into a frenzy to do any work because I'm just bored as fuck at my job. I don't get any challenge from it. I've done it a billion times. What can I do

seek fulfillment elsewhere. if nothing else, just enjoy the calm. life can go to full calamity fast and you will long for a day of boredom when you're in the maelstrom.

This.

But that aside, I once found great relief from job/career induced boredom in taking up a sport I had been meaning to try. It became a healthy obsession.

Tennis. I first developed and practiced my service hours on end after work every day for months. Strangers in the park where I practiced began approaching me to see if I would play with them. I made many new friends and ultimately played in usta tournaments for my age group, 30-35.

Not exactly. I simply went to the park one day with a 20 dollar Craigslist racquet

and allowed own body to tell me what the best way was to place the ball in the opposite net service box. After I had my natural motion fluid and could, after a few months, reliably produce fairly heavy serves with decent placement, I went to YouTube to watch videos of the service motions of Sampras and Federer, but that's when everything about my I mechanics got messed up.

i work what many would consider a 'fun' job at least compared to big law or something and id honestly take the more prestigious, higher paying gig and just develop hobbies and fun outside of work. drinking in the office isnt nearly as fun as having tons of disposable income
