Revenue thus far: $16,250
Based on current docket, 2018 solo revenue (6 month period including earned to date) will total approximately $45,000 (i was at my other job for the first 6 months). One year projected revenue (June 2018 - June 2019) is approximately $175,000 based on my valuation of the current caseload, assuming they settle within 12 months.
Never worked this hard in my life, but incredibly happy, and I've made some nice progress in only 3 weeks. Looking forward to building on this. On the down side, I'm getting obsessed and finding it very hard to have a work/life balance. But i assume that's how it is going to be in these early days until I can establish a routine. |

I offered the client 35% contingency if he pays all costs/expenses or 40% if i advance all costs/expenses and they are recovered upon any settlement. He countered and said he would only be ok with a 40% contingency fee which would INCLUDE reimbursement of my costs/expenses. I told him that's not how it works, and he needs to understand that my reimbursement of fees/costs has to be a separate deduction from the settlement amount (from the contingency). and now we're at an impasse. he's a pain in the ass to deal with, but he has a pretty good case here.
maybe i agree to rep him to the extent we can resolve the matter pre-filing. and take 40% including all costs, which would be very minimal if pre-court filing. |
