The best answer to that question is that I only remember playing outside in summer, watching my favorite shows on tv, playing with GI Joes and legos, and generally having fun.

This is a great answer and all the years in the mid-late 80s are good candidates since it was the zenith of the toy industry-cartoon franchise powers for boys, and we could still do shit like go outside and play in the woods or the snow completely unstructured for like 7 hours at a time. It’s also a time when I remember my nuclear family being together under one roof inside of spread out across the continent, and having close relationships with my siblings. The problem is that my parents were miserable basketcases at that time.

2nd year out of college, year before law school - 2001/2002.

Lived in a 6 bedroom house in downtown Charleston with 4 of my best friends, a couple of CSU football players, and a prostitute. Worked at a law firm as a clerk making 7.25 a hour, worked at night a couple nights a week as a bartender on a party boat, and dating a very hot baptist school teacher. We partied almost every night, a big part of the CSU football team was always partying there, there were girls coming over constantly.

Amazing

Sometime in the mid-90s, probably 1995:

- Lots of time with grandparents who were still alive (which given the hypo and developments of it above, I would increase greatly)

- Bike rides to hang out / make out / 69 with gf while her parents were at work

- Had a couple of bros I would waste the days away with riding bikes, playing NHLPA, NBA Jam, and Mortal Kombat, eating pizza, chugging soda, and praying that Real Sex would be on HBO that night

- Way pre-9/11 -- I think our concerns were related to mildly flaming homos on tv and scare tactics re: the ozone layer

- Hip-hop was still cool

- I was still <16 so my "job" was earning $10-20/hr mowing lawns outside while listening to my walkman and I had no expenses

two different gfs who were obsessed with me, sex virtually on demand, 180 WFH job, smoked weed all day, ends just before my full-blown manic episode/breakdown that put me in the hospital and fucked up my life

edit: also had a mindblowing first experience with acid in December 2013 that was 180 at the time, though probably contributed to my eventual psychological collapse

prob a result of the aforementioned acid experience, constant high THC sativa smoking, and gakk.

basically got really into occult/esoteric philosophy shit, began to think I had figured out the nature of the universe, thought I was an incarnation of Buddha/Jesus/whatever the fuck (this God complex is very common in manic episodes). Felt absolutely elated 24/7, rarely slept or ate. Blasted music at full volume in my apartment and danced around like a fool. This lasted for like a month straight in varying degrees of severity (sometimes I felt normal enough to see my gf and even fuck her).

Eventually, my gf got worried because I wasn't returning her texts/calls and came over unannounced, and when I was babbling incoherently about my "revelations" and shit, she got spooked and called 911 on me. She actually stayed with me for a while after this, which in hindsight is incredible

yeah I had a legit breakthrough dose that caused "ego death" where I felt my entire self fall away and was enveloped in what I can only describe as the Fullness of the Void, like light and dark simultaneously. Wept like a baby.

Sorry, strict policy against traveling back in time. Nothing is worth the risk of screwing up the decent life I have now.

Solid 165 - 170 across the board. I have many friends, a wife who is a great match for me, a little baby who seems happy and healthy, and a chill job with generous benefits that lets me spend time with the aforementioned.

Could my life be better? Absolutely. Have I made monumental mistakes and miscalculations? Many. But I have it too good to roll the dice by traveling back in time. Butterfly effect can be nasty.

I’d relive the year after taking (and passing) the bar. Fit. Young. Smart. Funny. Future seemed bright. Done with bar stress. Reality not sinking in.

Senior year of high school. Captain of the wrestling team, xenogears and metal gear solid, greatest time in the history of wrestling with Rock, Stone Cold, and NWO going buck fucking wild and crazy Dudley/brood/Hardy TLC matches, in love with my first GF and experiencing the first joys of pussy, had a high 1500s SAT and picked a shit college so we could go together (and because I didn't really know better. Could have just gone to schools of different selectivity that were close together. So basically, that year was as good as things ever were and also a chance to make some changes and put my life on a higher trajectory.

Otherwise I'd stay in the present, this is the most comfortable I've been. No serious stress or uncertainty in my life (other than whether I'll find the right girl), money to buy all the toys I want, job that's relatively chill.

The idea that you go relive that year with current mindset skews it in an interesting way. 8th Grade year was awesome, but I don't know if it would be as awesome if I came in with my mindset of a middle-aged attorney. Same with Freshman year of college. I might fuck it up if I went into the year with my current mindset vs. my dumb, unjaded mindset I had when I actually experienced it. I want to say that, if you have your current mindset, you should relive a shitty year-- turn it around. For that reason, I will go Sophomore year in HS.

I was pretty much aspie in High School. Smart, reasonably athletic, good looking (if I tried to be), but I had no clue how to interact with people. Was popular in middle school but High School was different (not many people from my middle school in my high school). Couldn't talk to girls, etc. Spent most of my free time listening to music in my room (still know a lot about music) and playing wiffle ball and basketball with kids from my neighborhood not in my HS.

But High School is supposed to be a lot of fun, so I would relive it and be smoooooothhhh with the ladies. More confident. Take more chances socially. I picked sophmore over junior and senior years because those were better (although I was still aspie).

funny you say that about the transition from middle school to high school, think it's fairly common.

In retrospect, I was immature in High School. Still liked doing the things I did in 8th grade (playing wiffle ball, playing in the woods, etc.) My best friend in middle school (actually throughout most of my childhood) went to the same High School as I did. He became very popular, did cool shit. His friends were probably like, "Why are you hanging around with that fag?" about me.

Haven't spoken to him in a couple of years, but I think he is very nostalgic about his childhood (when we were inseparable). Once told me he was going to write a book about our adventures when we were 12.

Yeah, that's exactly the right approach to the hypo. Freshman year of HS was a big shock for me and it kinda sucked. I'd redo that one, be more confident and chill.

Probably spring of senior year of hs through spring of freshman year of college, or somewhere around there

alternative would be senior year of college
