For example, cornerback doesn't really reward endurance all that much. It doesn't reward flexibility. It doesn't reward strength (it rewards power, explosive strength, but not flat absolute strength). It also doesn't really reward eye-hand coordination all that much.

I actually think the fighting sports probably are the most well-rounded in terms of being athletically demanding. I'd certainly consider boxers, wrestlers, mixed martial artists to be better overall athletes than cornerbacks. But even at that fighters aren't great at everything.
