if you did that every day, 20+ days a month, wouldn't be so bad. Right?
When I go solo my first year goal is at least $500-700 a day on average.

here are my ideas:
- does your local court have appointed lawyer programs? Things like criminal work (these pay low, but at least its something), guardian ad litem work in stuff like probate (can charge a lot more, your normal rate), and juvy court. Some of this work is pretty fun
- does your local bar association have an appointed lawyer service? Some local bar associations do, you can put your name on a list for whenever someone calls them by practice area
- advertise online (but I know nothing about this)
- do like CSLG does, always carry cards and hand them out to everyone you meet. Especially people like Uber drivers. hell, ask if you can leave a stack of cards in their car for their other riders
- network your ass off with other lawyers, go to lunch with someone every day, etc, get your name out there in case one of them has work they want to refer out
- depending on your practice area, network with other professionals. Example, if you do real estate, network like crazy with realtors, if you do estate work network like crazy with financial planners. A lot of these people have legal issues come their way via their clients and they have no lawyer contacts to refer them to, especially not a lower cost non-biglaw lawyer
I'm sure there's more you can do

you've got to put yourself out there. Go to every local bar association happy hour and chat everyone up (as painful as it can be at those things!), talk to every uber drive and leave a card, let all of your friends know specific practice area that you are doing.
Solo podcast stuff that I'm listening to about this says that you should spend two hours networking for every hour that you work in the beginning.
Hell, go hang out in a fucking bar mid day and chat some people up. Everyone has problems.
