I remember the first time that, in my capacity as a T10 student, I attended court. The case that day was the county going after a land owner who had neglected to mow the lawn on any of his properties for like a year. The prosecutor was a graduate of a local TTT.
In my mind, I was writing an opening argument for the jury. I would have been like "The elements of criminal neglect of a vacant property are A, B, and C. In this case, I will prove that the defendant meets A because y, meets B because x, and meets C because z" - a true triumph of logic.
Instead, the prosecutor opens up with "This is a story about greed - about one man who thought he was above the law"
I was like, wtf, that's irrelevant.
