my mom was making fun of my brother's hot shikse ex for this tonight, and i figured i'd throw the hypo out to the boart...

brother and shikse ex went on a road trip a few years ago, and they had camped the night before got to their next destination at about 9am and checked in at the embassy suites where they were booked for that evening. the hotel wasnt busy and they gave them their room for that evening at 9am.

the hotel included free buffet breakfast and it's just out in the breakfast area for anyone to help themselves. total honor system. anyone could walk in off the streets and eat there.

brother said to shikse ex that they should have some breakfast. shikse refused to partake, and lectured him that it's "stealing" because they weren't paying for the room for that previous night. brother was internally maf, but he's a pussy so he didnt fight too much with her and she let her cuck him.

so, the Q: is it wrong to take the breakfast? would you do it anyway?

my answer: i dont even think it's wrong if you're staying there the next night (as opposed to walking in off the street). you're giving the hotel money anyway, and it's just a shitty breakfast buffet with powdered eggs and cereal and the benefit you're deriving is de minimis. and it's a GC corporate chain hotel anyway, so who the fuck cares.

no, he married a ttt jewess who "became religious."

this shikse ex was his longest LTR -- 2 yrs. she was HOT and he should have married her and forced her to convert. she was super into jesus and said she "couldnt" convert. they broke up bc she was cucking him with a german ex bf who lived in germany and was an exchange student at her HS and supposedly he "turned gay" and she was flying to europe to visit him.

this cant be the rule. the room includes breakfast and is the same price for 1 or 2 ppl. therefore, the rule can't be that one night = 1 breakfast serving. sometimes one night = 2 breakfast servings. therefore, your rule fails.

shockingly i actually agree with you. not wrong. if the hotel has space available and checks you in early, then you're entitled to use the hotel amenities like any other guest.

taking the other position is like saying it's stealing to use the gym, print something in the business center, or take a copy of the WSJ before 3:00 check in time.

solid gemara-level reasoning.

your point is good -- that the breakfast buffet is an amenity. if it were individualized breakfast and cooked to order, it might be a different case.

It's not wrong regardless of the analogy above or the timing, I think. Amenities are offered for all guests without differentiation in fee. Fee is traded for the right to use and consume. It is the hotel's right to limit consumption and use or adjust pricing and benefits and they will do that in some ways - drink tickets for suites, for example. Buffet is provided for all. Hotel could limit if they wanted. It's ultimately a bargained for contract.

It's almost like shikse had tired of Jew money reasoning but wasn't smart enough to think through this one so she chose a seemingly CLOSE CALL as the place to make her stand. Oops.

You could just ask the front desk or manager.

At a hotel like the Embassy Suites, they'd probably tell you to go for it.

The delineation between theft and righteous breakfast partaking is similarly situated to the standing between Four Seasons and Extended Stay Motel 6 and Embassy Suites years towards the latter. [Rashi 6:21].

If the hotel really wanted to enforce this, they would issue you tickets for the breakfast buffet for the number of nights of your stay (which I have seen done in some hotels).

i agree.

though the only counterargument is that some hotels are arranged so that it logistically difficult to set this up. the breakfast is often kinda in the lobby and it's totally open to the public and would be hard to rope off.
