i have skimmed Mastering the Core Teachings of the Buddha before and it made the practice of insight meditation seem fascinating. i don't know if i want to invest hundreds or thousands of hours into it though, which is probably what would be required. the part about Siddhis also made me think Vipassana meditation might actually cause mental illness (or maybe the rest of us are profoundly wrong about the nature of reality). |
