Date: July 21st, 2018 10:13 PM Author: Vengeful Field Genital Piercing given that you can use pointers / make microsoft api you can do anything in vba. that being said lack of some OOP features means making apps wont be that dope ie no class inheritance but you can sort of replicate with interfaces, there is this guy runs a site called rubber duck who is trying to add features that microsoft wont kinda of quixotic and ridiculous but he is doing it, he also has poasts on how to use VBA as though it were a complete OOP langauge. still can make legit applications. it works well as as scripting language with Microsoft products, everyone uses excel and outlook sooo. Transition to C# doesnt seem like it would be too hard. And if you fuck around enough with api / pointers likely transition to C++ wouldnt be too crazy either. C# and python i guess but i havent used them in a way that i couldnt use vba IE class inheritance, employing patterns like MVP (though as i said rubber ducky gives work arounds and i am actually playing with MVP pattern a bit. whole point of this i think is to be able to move objects through each circuit or w.e, making testing a lot easier. also does feel a lot cleaner having data, logic, view separated. will see if it works). i think in another year or so i will be solid. still pushing down and up so to speak....understanding hardware, memory allocation on base level and design patterns / class structures in higher level. networking / database stuff too. it is alot ! but no real rush, just pushing for the sake of it...much like life.
i will create a compendium of VBA / Excel formula poasts and articles that would bring someone up to speed quickly at some point.
