Drive just slightly north of Paris and end up in LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES NATIONAL RECREATION AREA, one of the largest nature reserves in the eastern United States where you can fish to your heart's content and also see buffalo. Catch fish all day, go to a restaurant by night and eat them fried. Then drive further north to Paducah, KY where you can experience authentic Kentucky BBQ. Finally cut through southern Illinois and go to the historic small city of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on the banks of the Mississippi River, where you can shop in quaint little boutiques on main street and see the big barges go by.

Paris is just 2 hours away, whenever you feel like going home again.

Drive 2 hours east to Bristol TN/VA, the town that's in two states

https://www.rlrouse.com/pic-of-the-day/state-street-bristol.jpg

one side of this street is in Tennessee, one side is in Virginia. It's full of shops and tourist attractions as well as a large NASCAR track if you're into that.

Once you are done with Bristol, take I-81 south. Stop in GREENVILLE, TN and see the home and burial site of one of America's worst presidents, Andrew Johnson. Continue south to KNOXVILLE and see the Sun Sphere

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/weL4T50h7Ow/maxresdefault.jpg

party with University of Tennessee students all night like, pretend you're like a visiting professor or grad student or something

https://i.imgur.com/Ss0iCsC.jpg

From there it's just a hop, skip and jump to Great Smokey Mountains national park

https://www.rei.com/adventures/assets/adventures/images/trip/core/northamerica/smw_hero

oh and GATLINBURG, TN is close too. Too much to do there to describe, just look it up. Anyway, Gatlinburg back to Harlan is just 2.5 hours whenever you feel like going home.

fuck, Omaha is POLE POSITION for an exciting roadtrip through the center of Iowa! Interstate 80 is right there. You can drive to Des Moines in 2 hours flat, and check out a town that is quickly becoming a yuppie haven with good dining and quirky boutiques. From there it's a short trip to Iowa City and the WORLD'S LARGEST TRUCK STOP. From Iowa City, skew northeast a little bit and check out Dubuque, Iowa, which is one of the only hilly places in the Midwest and has the world's shortest railroad

Sand Hills is like a 5 or 6 hour drive from Omaha, but doable. KCMO is less than 3 hours and CR. Boji is too prole.

I honestly think the downtown area in Des Moines pwns Omaha. With Con Agra gone and the city government fucking up the HDR thing, the downtown core in Omaha is dying. Kewitt is building their HQ near the baseball stadium, but it's all too far from the old market.

Old market is still nice (but small) and they are spending a bunch of money redeveloping downtown. It will be completely different in a few years. Plus you have Benson, Dundee and a lot of other cool secondary areas.

We're going to do what many middling high school students in Louisiana do, and tour the campuses of the three most prestigious public colleges in Louisiana that are not LSU, which you're not getting into anyway.

We're already in Lafayette so we'll do the UL-Lafayette campus there. Then we go north through scenic countryside and a national forest to get to Ruston, Louisiana and see the Louisiana Tech campus. From there it's a very short drive to Monroe, home of the University of Louisiana at Monroe.

We're so pumped up from these awesome college visits that we need to see something depressing to get us back down to Earth. So we hop right across the border to Vicksburg, Mississippi and see the Civil War historic site there.

1. literally every middling high school student gets into LSU. you only have to have a 3.00 high school GPA to get a full ride to LSU under the TOPS program. there are under 5 million people in the ENTIRE STATE of louisiana, and the student body of LSU is 40K. plenty of spots to go around

2. campuses that aren't LSU are just regional schools that are basically community colleges. no one would tour them. only someone from the region would attend and they'd already be familiar with the campus thanks to college football

3. the credited response was grand isle

fuck it, we're doing a 2 week long roadtrip through upstate New York. Hope you don't have any pressing business to attend to in beantown.

We start in Boston. We take I-90 west, stopping briefly in Springfield, MA to see the NBA Hall of Fame. Then we keep driving to Albany, where we turn north and hang out in Saratoga Springs for a bit. We then drive all the way north, paralleling Vermont to our east, and stop to see Fort Ticonderoga and the War of 1812 Museum in Plattsburgh. Then we turn west again, roughly paralleling the Canadian border to Watertown and the Thousand Islands region. Then we catch I-81 south to Syracuse, before turning west again and going to Buffalo to see Niagara Falls and the bar where buffalo wings were invented and the grave of former US President Millard Fillmore who was from Buffalo. Then we head back east to explore the Finger Lakes region, including a stop at Ithaca to see the gorges and a stop in Cooperstown to see the MLB Fall of Fame.

First thing we do is drive to Minneapolis-St Paul and party hard in the Twin Cities with Target corporate HQ employees.

Then we drive to Rochester, Minnesota and party with super prestigious Mayo Clinic doctors.

Then we go to La Crosse, WI and Eau Claire, WI, both of which are home to directional University of Wisconsin schools, and party with undergrads.

Then we go to the twin port cities of Superior, WI and Duluth, MN and party with merchant mariners who work on ore freighters on Lake Superior.

If it's a weekend, get up bright and early and visit the DEDEDO FLEA MARKET. Not much you'd want to buy there, but a decent place to get some fresh fruit (SOURSOP is said to prevent cancer) and maybe a SPAM MUSUBI.

https://goo.gl/images/fhe4bx

Then, get back in your rental car and head to TWO LOVERS POINT overlook Site of an ancient (probably mythical) suicide between two star-crossed Chamorro lovers, and now the site of an occasional dramatic (very non-mythical) actual suicide

https://goo.gl/images/uBn19F

Next, you'll tool south down ROUTE 1 MARINE CORPS DRIVE to the WORLDS LARGEST KMART. Which is not technically the world's largest, but rather, the largest of the Pre-SUPER KMART format stores. It's crammed 24/7 with hundreds and hundreds of AZN tourists. You may spot NYUUG, swiping left on scads of waxy, bug-like Korean "hunnies"

https://goo.gl/images/pRHf5W

From there....fuck it. Who knows. Maybe rent a jet ski and just drive it as far out into the ocean toward Manila as you can go before you run out of gas and drown.
