They are all pashtu and Pakistan would rather have a Taliban government to effectively push its border west. Doesn't seem like airpower is able to preoccupy terrorists enough to keep them from planning and training. In Yemen, Al-Qaeda is able to plan worldwide terror. In Pakistan the terrorist havens are just attacking India but it shows they are able to operate even with drones constantly circling overhead.
Not having any conventional forces on the ground is cheaper but it's not going to end terrorism in Afghanistan. |
