What's this guy's role in all of this? Apparently, he was the source of the made up piss story and apparently tried to ingratiate himself with the Trump campaign but kept getting rebuffed.
Any poasters able to explain what was going on with this guy? |

He was the conduit for the Russian disinformation in the dossier (e.g. piss story). Fusion GPS purportedly told the intel committee that he's flame. Has been linked to Trump Org since 2006 and could have something on the infusion of Russian cash (i.e. money laundering) that started for Trump Org at that time. He also had specific interactions with Cohen that could matter if Cohen flips. But most likely he's just flame.
The only thing that matters now is whether the Mueller team can squeeze anything out of Stone before they get shut down. Even if they get convictions on Manafort, that story ends with a pardon, and it seems clear that Gates can't give them the detail on the actual planning/coordination for the email release. |
