To be fair,
Real talk, whether or not many Asians are "bug people," there are also many who are smart, hardworking, genuinely nice, and extremely productive members of American society. Half of that subset are women who by and large suck and fuck white men (even the ugly shut-in XO variety), and the other half are meek little submissive Asian bros who hold down good jobs, pay their taxes on time, don't commit crimes, and will never even attempt to steal your (Asian) girl. Even if too many of them currently vote Democrat, these people are by far the closest allies that whites have on this planet.
These people also literally haven't had a Hollywood movie that actually reflected "them" on the screen--even in a highly idealized manner, as in "Crazy Rich Asians"--in a quarter of a century. There are adults old enough to legally rent cars who were born after the last American mainstream movie with an all-Asian cast came out.
Do you really resent them getting excited about this, and the media covering that excitement?

I don't resent them getting excited about it at all. I resent the 4,000 word think pieces on every news site.
You didn't see that for "I Can Only Imagine" - which was a Christian film that was far more profitable and far more unlikely.
