But as someone who has interviewed a bunch of people for in-house roles, interest in the business side of what the business is doing is key. If you want to "just be a lawyer focused on legal issues" then you're not going to be particularly successful in many in-house roles. A lot of what is being asked of you is to present the legal situation and advice in the context of business goals and where initial proposals don't work to revise those proposals so that they do. |
