I'm on a military veteran list, and I'm constantly getting emails about veteran's services. These are extremely saddening to me. This was one of three today. He earned a Silver Star and an Air medal and none of his family is willing to attend his service. WTF?

I probably get 5-8 of these notifications a week and have never attended. :(

We will be having an honor service for a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran – here at the Fort Richardson National Cemetery and you are invited to attend the honor service on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at 1000 hours (10:00 a.m.)

1st LT William Theodore JUST served in the US Army Air Forces from December 5, 1943 till October 8, 1945 as a B24 pilot earning a Silver Star and an Air Medal. He was born on January 1, 1919 and passed away here in Alaska on September 11, 2018. Mr. Just’s next-of-kin might be unable to attend do to health concerns and would appreciate his military family’s attendance to honor his service to our country. Mr. Just will be coming out to join his wife, Bernice, who has been patiently waiting for him since 2006.

The cemetery van will be at the JBER-Richardson entrance (far right lane against the guard rail) at 0945hrs (9:45 a.m.) on Thursday, 9/20/2018 to lead a procession out to the cemetery. If you come directly to the cemetery, please drive all the way down to the parking lot to park and save the spots in front of the admin building (58-512) for our disabled veterans.

Thank you for spreading the word and coming out to join us in honoring our veterans.

Wouldn't you think this guy had grand kids, great grand kids willing to show up?

Maybe he was a huge dick, I don't know.
