I asked “How should Frost have handled the QB situation last Spring? His mismanagement of the QB room has left NU in a situation where the entire season rests on an 18 year old Freshman recovering from an injury who hasn’t played in two years.”
Based on their responses, it seems like they want to give him a pass because they had no way of knowing Gebbia would leave and are saying this shouldn’t be an issue moving forward since he has already locked up his 19/20 QBs and they get Vedral next year.

His options were to transfer to Oregon State immediately (their school year hadn’t started yet) and then be a three year starter beginning next season or to stay at Nebraska and transfer at the end of the season. If he did this, he is likely looking at having spent 3.5 years in college (transfer year + redshirt freshman year + semester as an early enrollee + this year at Nebraska) without playing meaningful snaps unless Martinez gets injured. I am sure he really regrets his decision now, because he would have likely played a ton this year and would have better options than Oregon State at the end of the season. re: gebbia, they played the ball not the man. regardless of what he was saying to your face, you still need to realize he's a pro style qb from a umc california background with an agent dad. those facts screams 'kid + fam will be mercenary in getting their kid starter spot to try to make it to nfl' |
