explain
isn't a flower or a young woman more beautiful in the knowledge that she is at her most beautiful in this very moment and in the knowledge that all of this will inexorably fade, and be replaced? it's poetry in living beings
there is something about being able to selfishly grasp and hold onto one moment when we are in our glory, but not to hold on forever. I saw a 300 pound prole women the other day at the store walking next to her daughter who must have been 15 or 16 at most, and she was gloriously beautiful, and yet she stood next to her mother, this grotesque troll of a woman, her inevitable future, it stunned me
