backing up tho: a plenary indulgence (any indulgence really) is premised on what "the usual requirements" of 1) having gone to confession recently. 2) being in a state of grace. 3) having received communion in the previous 8 days or so. 4) not having any ATTACHMENT to sin. 4 is a little tricky but basically it's what i said about confession validity. |

I am specifically talking about the way you (1) divorce the person who believes from his belief, (2) elevate the belief above its instantiation in that person, (3) suggest that belief can and does exist even in the absence of the person who believes, and (4) call this ethereal notion of belief without a believer the "mystical bride of Christ" that is somehow the true church. This is mysticism and it is not biblical.
