Years later, in the 90s, Kavanaugh's mom ruled against her parents - she learns somehow that the judge's kid was her age
over the years, she starts to convince herself that it was Kavanaugh who was the dude who got handsy with her, to the point she now believes it, even though it is complete fantasy.
From what we know about memory, especially long-term memories, this is entirely plausible - every time we remember an event, we're actually re-writing that memory, which allows little changes in the event to creep into our memory without our realizing it, even though we think our memories are like watching a tape that never changes |
