teaching kids good principles and to work hard and their hard work will be rewarded is not going to cut it in the future economy. it's shitty, but i don't see a way for the ship to change course.

side note: remember when everyone lost their shit when Bill Gates' wealth crossed $50 billion, and he was the richest man in the world? a few years later, for a moment, Warren Buffet was the richest, with $60 billion. today? Jeff Bezos is worth $160 billion. that's not inflation. that's not even saying he has done something unique. it's the inevitable result of technology causing capital to accrue to those who control it. i sound like a freshman who has just first studied Marxism, but it's true. it's playing out before our very eyes.
