Tech nerds, help me figure out how to rip a DVD

I have a computer and a $90 cheap-o DVD player. Also have a camcorder that easily syncs with the computer if that will somehow help. |

or if your computer has a serial port you could rip open your dvd drive and code like ten million lines of code and spend a few years fixing bugs just so you can wire your drive directly to your serial port |

Or, play the dvd on your tv, film the tv with your camcorder, and upload your new shaky cam files |

Well, I guess he could buy some video-input interface to directly copy the DVD onto his computer.
I would just spend $20 on a USB dvd burner and do it my way though, way easier. |
