First of all, cheap vodka (and all vodka really) starts out is as pretty much pure ethanol and is watered down. There's no "impurities" in there.
The "impurities" (which is a prole bs nondescriptor) you're talking about is probably methanol. Big liquor brands producing rotgut handles test for methanol a lot more than craft brands, which often just go buy smell during distillation.
Also, the methanol = hangover shit is just a myth. |

not all calories are equal. the body doesn't store ethanol calories. it prioritizes ethanol calories and immediately burns them all first. the body stores carb calories.
now, if you eat a ton while drinking liquor, you will gain weight, because your body is prioritizing the ethanol calories and storing more of the food calories.
but all in all, beer causes much more weight gain than liquor because of beer's carbs. |
