next to you are boxes of meticulously organized case law, transcripts and affidavits from 7 years of misspent litigation. partner expects u to rush up to hand him the exact document he needs out of more than 10,000 pages at your disposal, the moment he needs it. you are too stressed to really pay attention to the advocacy.
when trial adjourns, the partner walks past and doesnt acknowledge you. you wait by your phone to interpret the hastily typed emails indicating what arcane point of law he wants you to research while he and the client get lunch. |
