Got better and decided to drink a month or so ago. I think it was just once but then I drank again like a day later. Got pancreatitis.
About 5 days ago drank like 4 days in a row. Got pancreatitis.
Didn't even bother going to the doctor this last time since I knew exactly what it was. Haven't ate in a couple days because I have constant diarrhea and pain. Weird vertigo feeling and also headache and high heart rate.

I know getting and staying sober is hard but it is really worth it man. 5 years ago I was drinking maybe 6-8 drinks a day and smoking a half a pack of cigs and was at least 20 pounds heavier - now I’m almost 4 years sober and Nicotine free and it is really worth it.

But I have an ulcer & I also get bad gastritis. I know that doesn’t compare, though. I live in fear of getting pancreatitis. Worst part for me is I haven’t been able to take NSAIDs in a decade because of the ulcer. So hangovers are unbearable.
I go through sobermo streaks, but inevitably I seek the tension relief from everyday life that booze provides.
Recently I’ve been getting worried about early onset dementia. It’s correlated with heavy drinking. And I’ve noticed in the last year that I have started to leave out words when typing & forgetting simple things. I was a spelling bee champ, & now I forget how to spell some words. I used to never have to proofread college essays because I never made typos or mistakes, & now I do. It’s scary.
