Really easy. No need to fire up an app or anything. Just make sure to leave your cellular radio off (the green one) or just leave it in airplane mode and manually enable wifi.

Also useful in the US because it will automatically drop to WiFi if you cell signal isn't strong in your office or house or whatever.

last trip i had to call american airlines from finland to change my booking at the last minute and it took me 35 mins. simply turned on this plan and made the call. didn't activate it for the next day
