Austin is better but too many people and too much traffic from what was originally set up to be a mid size city.

Obviously both are better than houston. But like Chicago or Denver, don't like the geography if you want to attract from the east coast population centers.

NoVA makes sense because educated tech workers would live there, politics, power etc. But COL advantage from Seattle is low.

NYC is probably too expensive. But they could do downtown Brooklyn.

Chicago would be good but flyover not an east coast counterweight to Seattle.

Atlanta is not a real city for the most part and local politics are a wild card. But CoL, tech scene, ability to buy land near the downtown would work.

Denver is too far west.

having 2 headquarters in the same country 3 time zones apart would be a huge pain for business trips (lose a day or take a red eye) and call scheduling. also, amazon seems to want to be a media company.
