but then they built a bunch of dams for hydropower and decided it would be too expensive to build locks for ships, so now the furthest you can go upriver is to a town called yankton at the far southeastern corner of south dakota. but nobody really does, because what's the point, and yankton doesn't really have ship facilities anyway. |
