Way too much. Private school K-12. Tutors when I struggled with math, chemistry, and Spanish. SAT prep. Private college. LSAT prep. HYS at sticker.

All so I could poast.

Very little. They put me into a cheap daycare when I was little and had an in home baby sitter most days when I was in elementary school. Schools were all publics. I went to summer camp once. I played in YMCA sports leagues. They made me pay for college.

I definitely cost around a million, and they've gotten a terrible ROI.

Not much. Didn’t have a ton of stuff growing up. Grandma watched us mostly. Public schools. Full ride to college. Hand me down cars. No help for grad school. Vacations were via car to family. No tutors or any of that stuff.

They were good parents. Didn’t have much money to spend, relatively.

would opportunity cost for SAHM count? if so like $400k minus inflation

public school

no daycare ever

didn't pay for any after-school programs (i went to the library and played a lot of basketball at the park with neighborhood hoodrats)

didn't pay for college (but my dad did once hilariously claim that if not for him, i wouldn't qualify for all these grants and loans!)

didn't pay for law school

did buy me a car for $2500 when i was 16
