pipe was leaking in the front yard. ((home warranty)) sent ((plumbing company)) which informed us the leak was of course not covered under warranty, but that it'd be $500 to fix. i wasn't home so he told my wife some bullshit about not knowing how much pipe he would have to replace.
i get on thumbtack and XO JUAN came over the next day, offered to fix the leak for $120. quickly dug up soil and replaced the PVC pipe, literally a 7 inch piece. he also, for free, looked at our sink and toilet in the spare bathroom that we weren't sure were fucked up, and explained how all of our plumbing worked. today he's coming back to replace and add two water pressure regulators for $450 (meter showed 180 PSI, which is 120). i was quoted over $900 by another ((plumber)).
