I think we will have a currency crisis. Probably along the lines of Argentina, not as bad as Venezuela. But there will be price shocks along the way. It will be a combination of extravagant spending by Congress plus QE. In a sense we are already in the middle of one. Prices for housing, eating out, vehicles have already shot past what most people can afford.

Right, the erosion of the nuclear family means there is no parent available to manage the house, which includes planning for and preparing meals.

The skill is then lost and newer generations don't know how to cook, so when they are on their own they choose to eat out (or sometimes eat in using many wonderful delivery apps). They think to themselves that it sure would be nice to bring down these food costs but, now in the mid-20s and obligated to work 50+ hours a week, they have neither the time, the energy, and in many cases the few hundred dollars necessary to acquire kitchen basics, to gain a proficiency in cooking.

So Ramen, mac n' cheese, and takeout it is.

It's fucking LOLZY how much the VA budget has gone up:

The proposal, released Monday, asks for $198.6 billion for the VA for fiscal 2019 – significantly more than the $186 billion budget that Congress is working to approve for the current fiscal year.

COMPARE:

When the war in Afghanistan began in fiscal 2001, the VA budget totaled less than $49 billion. In fiscal 2009, it was $93.7 billion, less than half the new Trump proposal.

tommy is right that the deficit is spiking, which isn't great news. it was $779 billion in fiscal year 2018; on track to hit almost $1.2 TRILLION in FY 2019 thus far. during an economic "boom," no less - in a recession, government spending typically has to soar by 30% or more.

But he’s complaining about tax revenues. If the deficit is spiking, but tax revenues are higher, then the cause is spending, not taxation.

This is a braindead argument. Tax revenues could still go up even after tax cuts. That doesn't prove anything. They would have gone up even more without the tax cuts.

We don’t know that. We don’t know how much less economic activity there would have been without the cut. I just finished my taxes and saved about 6300. That’s real money to my family’s budget.

The revenue collected equals 16.3 percent of gross domestic product. That's the nation's measurement of economic output. That's like saying the average tax rate for the United States itself is 16.3 percent.

It's also much lower than the historical 19 percent target. But that's because the Trump administration cut taxes.

Revenues would be much higher without the Trump tax plan. It was also lowered by the extension of the Bush tax cuts and the Obama tax cuts.

Healthcare needs to be ass raped but you are just a typical moron. Govt healthcare spending is around 1.1T per year, a lot of it funded directly thru Medicare tax. In contrast the govt spends north of 800b on "defense" and other security related agencies, none of that money had a dedicated tax source. Most of it is totally wasteful, and it is driving the debt just as much if not more than healthcare
