Why would anyone be dismayed to learn we're in a simulation?

Given what we know about the intractability of the mind body problem it’s exceeeingly unlikely that we’re not in a simulation.
The only real point of contention is the nature of the person(s) running it

What? Are you flame, or just extremely insecure in your beliefs?
When you were bashing Osteen before, I quoted the famed theologian John Frame, who defends and likes Osteen. You dismissed it on the grounds that he was a Protestant and all Protestants were somehow atheists.
Now, you’ve done a 180 in a matter of months, claim to be a Protestant, and assert it’s extremely unlikely we are not in a simulation (a position commonly advanced by atheists)? Lol, you are too funny. In any event, ask a Protestant religious leader aboit the simulation thing then and report back.

Frame thinks there are people that would benefit from osteen,
“... people who have been spiritually hurt–who have been troubled by the image of God as an angry tyrant, who wants to take away every happiness.” (p. 322)
But I think there are still many people who are harmed by his exceedingly narrow focus. For that reason, I’m not sure he is a net benefit.

But people aren’t hurt. You are just making that up with nothing to support it. Zero hard evidence, and I’m not interested in theorizing.
And on the other hand, we have piles of hard evidence of people who were helped: their personal testimonials.
That’s why there is no serious criticism of Osteen. Maybe when you update your belief software 6 months from now you will realize this.
