I LOVE crazy rides and used to go on them all the time. But since turning 32 or so I've gotten dizzy and a little sick if I go on too many rides too quickly. Which is the point of magic mountain not waiting in line and going on 10-15 rides. |

Also X2, Viper, Green Lantern and Apocalypse are closed right now. Bummer about Viper, that is an old school favorite of mine. I've never been on X2.
I think Tatsu and Goliath are my favorite rides. Tatsu really is something else. |

I think most expensive one allows you to reserve your place immediately or something like that. But because it takes time to board rides anyway there's no difference in getting in the fast line between middle and most expensive option. you can make 1 reservation at a time. Gold (middle pass) cuts the wait time in half. So lets say an hour wait time for tatsu. Which means I can reserve a tatsu time for 30 minutes from now. For the next 30 minutes I can do whatever I want - eat, go on a short ride, walk to the next ride, whatever. Once I get to tatsu after the 30 minutes I go right up to the front. with the platinum you don't have to wait the 30 minutes and you can ride the same ride twice.
For all of the passes, the limit is that you can only reserve one ride at a time. You can reserve each ride as much as you want? (this is important).
Since it takes 10-15 minutes to walk, it seems like the middle option is good for an off day when lines are never more than an hour.
Platinum (top) option is good if you dont want to plan anything and just show up to a ride and skip to the front. But it costs twice as much. |
