"Saturday morning cartoons" proper stopped existing sometime in the 80s, they didn't actually exist in any meaningful way in the 90s except for X-Men and multiple Sonic cartoons and uh.... Rugrats? You had this constant feeling that you should "do something" when there was never anything to do and kids stopped playing outside in like 1990. GC sent this message to you by putting on TERRIBLE shit on TV basically all day every day - infomercials especially - which probably motivated proles to gtfo the house because nothing being on TV is a signal from GC that you should GTFO the house and work, or do something, or sleep, because only Scumbag inbreds and niggers were watching TV atm (telegraphed to you through Judge Shows and Talk Shows featuring said undesirables). Which in practical terms would basically mean what... going "shopping" or driving random places or what? This is what people used to do and how Boomers were programmed to operate. I did some of this myself, like when I got a "car" and shit, I thought it was amazing to go to my friends' houses for some reason because of the vestigial thinking and ancestor memories of thing-doers of yore. Now we are free to chill and Post in the internet on saturday mornings, and Stream 6/10 TV shows that we pretend are decent, and read posts that we pretend are insightful that we give "crs" or "180s" to.

Like I have a distinct memory of the *late* morning post-cartoon cliff around 11 am when the entire TV turned into infomercials for juicers. That was when you felt like a loser kid if you didn’t have a parent or sibling planning to do something with you/take you to an organized sports activity or a plan with a friend to hang out. |
