Had a few settlement checks come in from last year and already settled a bunch of stuff this week. Should be a great year. If this year hits big then I pretty much have enough to retire. Then I'll probably put in a few years extra just to be safe and then who knows.

The XO firm is also off to a great start. We have settled a couple hundred K in cases and brought in about 15 new cases this year so far (including that huge 8 figure monster we posted about http://xoxohth.com/thread.php?thread_id=4173190&mc=75&forum_id=2)

Also, my solo course should be going live in the next week or two. I'm going to give away a few 100% scholarships, 50% scholarships, and 25% scholarships to people on the board. So expect some sort of giveaway in the next 1-2 weeks.

I have 2 potential 8 figure cases and 10-15 7 figure cases right now (mostly spinal surgeries).

Biggest settlement to date is slightly over 2 million. Have probably 100+ settlements at 100K+ though.

I don't like the pressure that comes with prosecuting. You are expected to win, especially with a low burden of proof.

A judge estimated for me when I was retiring from family law that judges rule in favor of the DV petitioner 80% of the time. She couldn't believe it when I told her I only lost 9 defense trials in three years.

When you are faced with those odds, no one actually expects you to win so there isn't a lot of pressure.

If we bring in a huge trial firm and they hit 10 mil. We will each make 750K in fees (our one third each of 50%).

Yes, I will take them all to Disneyland. Kenny and I actually bought Chandler and his wife the 1K season passes a few months ago as a gift.

It is random. Depends on how busy I am. I have become much more selective because of the amount of leads I generate now (100+ per month). So I usually only take super clean cases (clear liability, big PD, good insurance carriers). A lot of the cases I send the XO firm are solid cases that may have one or two issues. Either a liability dispute, annoying client, or just smaller property damage. A lot of them are also just clean solid cases too. Sometimes my office gets overwhelmed with too many sign ups in a day and we send the rest of the leads for the day to the XO firm.

The XO firm has a really good make up of solid 50-100K cases right now sprinkled with a few 250K+ cases.

The case I brought in my first day at the firm is probably going to settle for around 30k soon with just chiro. Client doesn’t want to treat more despite real legit injuries that may require surgery.

Court hasn’t entered judgment yet. Have 60 days post notice of entry of judgment to file the motion. I kept my time monitored. Not sure if it’s a winner, but if I can negotiate an extra 10k out pre motion hearing, It would be worth it.

You should consider using a subscription model -- charge like $83/month ($996 altogether) or $830 up front (discount = two months free). For new solos, $83/month is a lot more affordable than a one-time payment of $986. Renewal rate is also a great measure of the quality & effectiveness of your course.

I take one or two 10 day international trips each year and a few three day weekends to do Vegas or some close by city. I try to hit at least one or two new countries per year.

I work pretty much every day though. Even on vacation I'll take calls and do maybe 2 hours of work while my family is sleeping.

180. My dad is a solo litigator (small biz disputes) who does random things (RE deals, contract, divorces) for his high net worth clients. Plateaued at about 500k/year with one junior associate.

Have been encouraging him to do PInbut he had bad experience - awful cases, low settlements, too much work with little yield -

Would be very interested in taking your solo course to help provide my old man with some guidance.

Course probably wouldnt help him much if he is already a succesful solo. It is not personal injury specific. It is more about general solo practice. Im working on a personal injury one next.

All of this is 180000000. Actually puts some faith back into the boart, and the xoFirm thing is awesome.

Pls consider investing in the xoFilmFund. Help me leave in-house cuckery, get the production company going, and so we can have an xoParty in Cannes.

Guaranteed finance fee of 15% to you in first position out of first dollar gross. Can make everything else happen but the financing at the moment. Have around $100k secured so far, but not going to go ultra low budget so will need around $2.5-5m. Most films I've done have been $10-25m, but self-financing is the best and easiest way to do it if it can be done.

Thanks brother. I'm not joking either. Will be a year from now when it all comes together realistically. Working with talent, writer, and setting up the foreign co-producer for production tax credits and p&a contribution then going to finish off the financing when the rest is locked. When all of that comes together, hopefully you're comfortable with more than $10k, but every bit helps. The novelty of an XOfunded film is too good not to do.

Next time I'm back in LA would be great to grab a drink or do an xomeetup or something.

There are many competitors. What you want is a service that lets you upload documents that clients can sign on their phone without any additional effort on their part. I used to recommend SignNow, but don't anymore because it tries to convince people to download their bullshit app. No app should be necessary & it should cost under $100/year.

I remember looking at several services back in the day. I picked Sign Request because it was free for what I needed (although there are some paid features) and it didn't require an app. Just about everyone signed using their finger on a phone.

I've been using SignNow for a couple years, but they recently changed their software to prohibit the use of "field markers" in the document. Instead, you have to manually select the fields. This is because they want to charge you for API access now. It's shitty, because I used to be able to run a single command and have retainer agreements sent out for signing, but now I have to do more work. It really sucks.
