I took a client to a matinee showing of the RBG movie "On the Basis of Sex." Side note: it's funny how all my clients (in-house counsel at F500 companies) are all massive libs.
Overall, the movie was okay, could have been worse. HLS RBG was cute af and her husband was a fucking CHAD. I thought it did a good job of portraying her as a real person with flaws, etc. But the sexist white male villains (HLS dean, professors, etc.) were cartoonishly one-dimensional. For example, there's a scene when she was at HLS at a dinner for all 9 female HLS students hosted by the dean. The dean had each woman at the table explain why she took a space at HLS that could have gone to a man, lol.
Also, a main theme in the movie may cause some cognitive dissonance in shitlibs.
There was lots of discussion about how "sex" and "gender" are the same and are immutable. For example, there's a scene where young RBG's secretary who typed up a brief said that she thought it used the word "sex" too much, and suggested she used the synonym "gender" and RBG agreed.
And there's a lot of talk about how sex/gender is like race.
All of this seems pretty out of alignment with the modern left which believes that sex/gender are completely different and that you can choose your gender.
