It's doable but difficult. I work 70 hours per week right now, spend about 42 hours per week with school and course work, 7 hours per week in meditation, 5.25 hours per week on food consumption, approximately 3.75 hours per week on independent research, 3.5 hours per week on moderate exercise, 1.5 hours per week on bathing and elimination, and the remaining 35 hours per week on rest and/or sleep.

I'm not in awe of the regimen - I've worked with Mexicans who woke up at 5am commuted an hour to a 12/hr job. I'm in awe of the absurdity of your autism and prioritization.

Like why have you not found a better job or more manageable way to do this. And why the fuck are you saying elimination

BTW xo is not meditation

I probably keep to the job because of a mixture of loyalty and habit; it's a major industry in our area. The pay isnt bad either to be honest--it justifies the time. What can I say I'm busy between work and school. I try to carve out some time for things that are meaningful. That means I do make sure I have time to eliminate every day without being under pressure--that's just the word I use for it. I meditate twice per day, once in the morning, once in the afternoon during a break at work when I'm in the field. I am also working on an independent research project that I always spend some time on.

Thanks. Hoping to make a difference. I work in the "field" of the industry I'm in right now but I'm getting my PhD because I have some ideas about how the theory could be improved with applications to a pretty wide range of topics, including things like propulsion and plant startup costs. There's a lot of poverty where I'm from and I'm considered to have "made it" so I feel a lot of pressure -- probably one of the reasons I stick to such a strict schedule, because I don't want to let people down.

Do you ever feel that your commitments come at an expense to cultivating relationships with other people? I only ask because your rigorous schedule implies you are single and do not spend time proactively seeking out a partner.

I don't think there's any doubt that it's affected my circle of friends (made it smaller). But I'm not living like a monk. I've had girlfriends and significant relationships, although I haven't dated for the past year or so. I tend to get wrapped up in whatever project(s) I'm working on, almost consumed by them (along with work) but then I'll come up for air at some point and be like "okay, maybe focus on socializing a bit more." I'm decidedly at a less-social point in my existence right now, but I'm at peace with that. Here's the thing: the friends I do have are good with me as I am, which is invaluable to me. So I probably have less friends than I otherwise would if I were out drinking, sporting, cavorting every night, but I have a good inner circle. Here's the other thing: I grew up around animals and still spend a lot of time around animals and honestly, I get a lot of comfort from my relationships with them.

I feel like I make time for all the important things in life in appropriate measure. I try to keep things tabulated and I've worked for several years to come to this schedule. I have my independent research which means a lot to me. There's a saying in my native language: "shuneu tiu malak ferri ferri posteniti ariturius." "The divided life is the life of excellence." My uncle taught me that and it's something I've tried to live by.

I grinded through a T10 math/econ program in five semesters, without even taking pre-calc in HS. Had a similar schedule. Can't imagine doing this with a 40/hr work commitment + wife&kids.

Yeah, DQ is one of the "easier" math courses compared to abstract algebra or whatever, but that class alone will tank your schedule. If you don't care about grades and just need to pass, it's probably doable but I suspect that's not the case.

Try taking these classes at the MBA level, and do DQ in a summer session. Those courses are much easier

depends on your job and the school's attendance policy. those are all classes, except calc, you can attend once a week, so long as you stay on top of your reading and assignments.

if you're working as a waiter, car salesman or blue collar job no fucking way can you also attend classes daily and get good grades; if you're a paralegal, a male secretary or a cop and you got lots of down time to read it's a lot easier.
