With this new Senate deal to re-open the government. You're *supposed* to have 6 months of expenses saved up in cash for emergencies according to financial planners/common sense. Any Fed employee that was financially competent enough to have even 2-3 months of expenses in a cash savings account basically will have gotten a free month off. Plus or minus maybe at MOST like <$5 if you want to be pedantic and consider losing a couple weeks worth of 1-2% interest for whatever you for each paycheck.
